Principal's Corner

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Allow me to introduce myself, I am Dana Cerrito, the 7th and 8th grade Principal of Eastern Heights Middle School, and I am thrilled to be celebrating my 20th year in this wonderful institution!

As I embark on this milestone year, I wanted to take a moment to extend my warmest greetings to all of you. It is a privilege to serve as the principal of such an exceptional school, where every day brings new adventures and exciting learning opportunities.

With two decades of experience under my belt, I am proud to say that our school has grown and flourished over the years. We have cultivated a vibrant community that values academic excellence, creativity, and innovation. Together, we have created an environment that encourages our students to discover their passions, reach for the stars, and become the best versions of themselves.

At EHMS, we believe that education should be a joyful journey. That's why we are committed to providing an engaging and stimulating curriculum that nurtures the whole child. From our dedicated and talented teachers to our state-of-the-art facilities, we strive to create an atmosphere where learning is not just a task, but a delight!

But let's not forget the most essential ingredient in our recipe for success - you, the parents and guardians. Your support and involvement are invaluable to us. We appreciate the trust you place in our school and pledge to work tirelessly to ensure your child's education is nothing short of extraordinary.

So, as we embark on this new school year, let's embrace the adventure ahead with a dash of wit and a sprinkle of humor. After all, learning should be fun, and laughter truly is the best medicine!

Once again, welcome to Elyria City Schools, where we celebrate diversity, innovation, and educational excellence. Together, let's make this year a memorable and joy-filled one!

Dear Families,

Welcome to Eastern Heights Middle School! We are thrilled to have you as part of our school community, and we want you to know that all Pioneers are truly valued here.

As we begin a new academic year, I am excited to embark on my second year as the principal of Eastern Heights and my seventeenth year as an educator. I firmly believe in the potential of every learner, and it is our mission to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.

At Eastern Heights, we understand that each student is unique with their own set of talents, interests, and aspirations. Our dedicated team of teachers and staff are committed to providing a well-rounded education that not only focuses on academic growth but also fosters personal development and character building.

We believe in the power of collaboration between home and school. We encourage open communication between parents, students, teachers, and administration. Together, we can create a strong support system that ensures the success of each student throughout their middle school journey.  As parents or guardians, your involvement is crucial in your child's education. We welcome your active participation in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and volunteering opportunities. Your support plays a vital role in creating a positive learning community for our Pioneers.

As students, remember that you are at the heart of everything we do. Your ideas, thoughts, dreams matter to us. We encourage you to take advantage of the knowledge from our teachers. Get engaged in the extracurricular activities available at Eastern Heights and make the most of your time in Elyria City Schools.

Eastern Heights Families,

My name is Mr. Todd Church and I am thrilled to be coming back to Eastern Heights this fall in the role of assistant principal. I have a long history in Elyria as it is my hometown, I am an Elyria High School alumni and have been working in the district since 2005 as a teacher. I have spent time at Eastern Heights, Elyria High School, and most recently at Westwood.

It is very apparent to me as I get started that there are so many great things happening at Eastern Heights so my goal is to offer support to Mrs. Cerrito, Mr. Keefe, and staff to help move us forward.

I look forward to meeting everyone soon!
